NorthTec supports and guides more than 7,835 students under the counsel of more than 180 academic staff. All the courses offered by NorthTec are New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) approved. Eligibility for Admission at NorthTec:

NorthTec and other organizations offer a range of scholarships for worthy and deserving students. General Scholarships include AMP scholarships, Whangarei Agricultural and Pastoral Society Scholarship.
For dropouts, DairyNZ Gap Year Scholarship is available. Māori Education Trust, Te Rau Matatini Scholarships, New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants are offered to Maori students. Ngāpuhi Scholarship is offered to IWI. Pacific Health and Disability Workforce Awards and Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs if offered to people from Pacific. Scholarship for Women is available as The Betty Loughead Soroptimist Scholarship Trust, The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust, New Horizons for Women Trust Awards and Rural Women New Zealand.
Student Life at NorthTec:
NorthTec has its main campus in Whangarei. It has other campuses situated in Dargaville, Kaikohe, Kaitaia, Bay of Islands and Rawene. Educating and providing guidance to more than 7000 students from all over the world.
NorthTec maintains a supportive and encouraging environment for international students (though Māori culture is dominant as about 46% of the student body claims it’s ancestry) which boosts inter-cultural understanding and a student’s overall development. Support is ensured by the presence of an active International Office which is always there to assist in NorthTec main campus.
Events Organised at NorthTec:
NorthTec supports an Interactive Learning Centre (ILC) which is supported by a technology platform for interactive video conferencing, online and mobile technology. The NorthTec ILC lecture theatre has a capacity of about 100 people and is used for lectures, seminars, and presentations.
Alumni Network of NorthTec:
NorthTec has a number of notable alumni out of which Keith Paroa Curry gained fame as the first male Plunket nurse.
